Joyfully Giving in Service to the Saints and the Lord Jesus Christ

Giving God’s way is biblical.

This service that you perform is not only supplying the needs of the Lord’s people but is also overflowing in many expressions of thanks to God. Because of the service by which you have proved yourselves, others will praise God for the obedience that accompanies your confession of the gospel of Christ, and for your generosity in sharing with them and with everyone else (2 Corinthians 9:12-13, NIV 1984).

In his second letter written to the Corinthians, the Apostle Paul lays out the ideals for New Testament giving. Paul commended the Macedonians for providing aid to other needy saints out of their poverty (2 Corinthians 8:1-5), yet he advocated a balance in giving, towards equality among the saints:

Our desire is not that others might be relieved while you are hard pressed, but that there might be equality. At the present time your plenty will supply what they need, so…

The Power to Control the Power

In my previous post, I mentioned four things every church should remember when they lose their pastor, each in 1 Corinthians 12. You may want to disengage, but the Holy Spirit requires you be involved (v. 7). You may want to dominate, but the Holy…

Praying for the Glory of God in the Lives of the Millennials

This blog is written for the Glory of God. The Glory of God is the reason everyone exists. Whether we are praying for the millennials or posting comments related to miscellaneous aspects of their lives, everything is prayerfully done for the Glory of God.

I am especially thankful for the numerous opportunities that the Lord has given me to work with missionaries and other Christian leaders in this demographic for many years. I am also grateful that the Lord has given me a passion to pray for this generation. I am encouraging others to pray for this generation. How blessed it would be if thousands of Christian millennials around the globe would join us in praying for their peers!

Praying for the Glory of God in the lives of the millennials is a powerful way to pray. We are asking everyone who knows the power of prayer to join us in seeking the power of God for the millennial generation. Many of them have a burning zeal to change the world in their various spheres of influence. This vision is very noble. It is doable, but these lofty goals must be committed to the Lord first. If it is God’s will, each goal will be energized, mobilized, and accomplished by the Power of God and according to the grace of God.

To make an eternal impact that will last throughout eternity, the Glory of God must be their ultimate goal. Christ must be the originator, controller, and completer of every vision and goal. This is why we are praying for the unsaved millennials in our families to come to a saving knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Christ must be Lord of every aspect of their lives so that God will be glorified. Christ makes the difference!

“Pray without ceasing” is Paul’s admonition to believers in 1 Thessalonians 5:17. Thank you for your prayers for the millennials, locally and globally, whether they are in your biological family or not.

If you need guidance and encouragement in praying for millennials, my eBook entitled, “Praying for the Unsaved Millennials in our Families” is available at at a very low price. It is a 24-day prayer guide that is saturated with Scripture verses and praises to the Lord for the Glory of God.
