2 Corinthians 12:10, “Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in needs, in persecutions, in distresses, for Christ’s sake. For when I am weak, then I am strong.”
Relationships are like a metal chain. The links in the chain are like the people in our lives. Some links are stronger than others. Some links are even removed, making the chain shorter. Even if our entire chain is weak, if we have Jesus, we are strong. We are strong in weak.
I take pleasure in infirmities. This seems like it is backwards, but according to Paul (and Jesus), this makes perfect sense. In order to ensure our freedom, Jesus became sinful. He took on our infirmities so that we can have peace. Since Jesus did this, we should also have pleasure in infirmities.
