The good, the bad, the highs, the lows all contributed to an overall blessed year for me. I thank God for that. If you have entered or are about to enter the New Year with your spiritual and mental state intact because of who you are in Christ Jesus, then that means the past year was most likely a blessed one for you as well. Even if we faced some challenges this past year, ultimately we know God can use those challenges to lay out a brighter future for us if we allow his Holy Spirit to make us better and not bitter.
That thought brings me to Psalm 65:11 to serve as a personal reminder to me as I anticipate another year:
Thou crownest the year with thy goodness; and thy paths drop fatness.
