Scripture tells us that in one battle that the Israelites fought and won Moses stood on a cliff overlooking the battlefield and held his hands up. When Moses held his hands up, the Israelites gained advantage. When Moses hands grew tired and he lowered them, the Amalekites started winning. In order to help Moses hold his hands up two men, Aaron and Hur, came alongside Moses and held his arms up so that Israel could win the day (See Exodus 17:8-16).

Friday is the day when many pastors I know do their final preparation for their Sunday message. In my experience, Friday-Sunday morning is a time of intense spiritual battle. For me, this is a time I am most distracted. It is a time when more interruptions come into my life. It is a time when my sin nature feels the most like making trouble.
