John 1:12 – Yet to all who received him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God.
In the chapter I’m reading from Philip Yancey’s “What’s So Amazing About Grace” This particular quote stood out to me.
“If I came to the place where I saw my primary identity in life as ‘the one Jesus loves’ how differently would I view myself at the end of the day?”
(The ‘one Jesus loves’ refers to John).
Good question, huh? Do you see yourself as the ONE Jesus loves? Truly?
My first instinct is to say, “Well of course I do! I know Jesus loves me! It’s the very first song I learned as a young child! Jesus loves me this I know.” But as I read this in the context of grace I had to really pause for a moment and think about…
