Theology Still Matters

The dictionary definition of detour is “a deviation from a direct course or the usual procedure; especially:  a roundabout way temporarily replacing part of a route.”  When you look back on your life does this sound familiar?  It does for me, and to be honest I feel as though I am in the midst of a detour right now.  In His new book Detours:  The Unpredictable Path to Your Destiny, Tony Evans lays a scriptural foundation to show that detours, though they may be painful, are part of a bigger purpose.

Detours are there to teach us, prune us, mold us, and get us ready for what comes next.  Sometimes those detours get us to the end of our rope to here we realize that God is what we have been seeking all along.  Here is one quotation from the book that hit home with me, “Development…
