The first reading from Isaiah 38:1-22 starts out with a King that served the Lord well but then had fallen away and was told to get his house in order because he was going to die. The King wept bitterly and was sorry for his fall so God said he would heal him and give him fifteen more years to live. The sign that God gave the King to prove His promise; See, I will make the shadow cast by the sun on the stairway to the terrace of Ahaz go back the ten steps it has advanced.” So the sun came back the ten steps it had advanced. Doesn’t the sun have laws it was created to obey? Yet, a miracle! The sun obeyed God.
