How Disciples Make Disciples

Two Sundays ago (January 10, 2016), I kicked off our Follow series at our 11:00 am service.

In that sermon I talked about disciples making disciples. I wanted to further expand on some of those thoughts here.

As believers, following Jesus and being like him are our goals. As a church, we want to be disciples making disciples. That’s our church’s goal.

The question after that becomes, “How do we do that?”

We want to do this in the context of relationships. 1 Thessalonians 2:8 gives us a good blueprint for relational discipleship. That blueprint is us sharing life (and all its ups and downs) with one another. The blueprint is following Jesus in the midst of whatever life throws at us.

Cooperation in this endeavor is a must. As someone has said, “1 step by 100 people is more impressive than 100 steps by 1 person.” Let’s team up…
