One Kingdom Warrior

Royal Blue 02 new

On October 24, 2015, UniteBoston hosted BostonServe, which encouraged Christians throughout Boston to serve in their neighborhoods together on one day.

It was the first time that UniteBoston held this event – and what a success! There were eleven projects taking place throughout the city.

Together, we can make God’s love for Boston visible in a way that one church cannot accomplish alone.

Check out the photos below to see God’s love in action!

Follow the Leader

Digging Daily with Pastor Michael

S (Scripture): Hebrews 6:10 For God is not unjust so as to forget your work and the love you have demonstrated for his name, in having served and continuing to serve the saints. 11 But we passionately want each of you to demonstrate the same eagerness for the fulfillment of your hope until the end, 12 so that you may not be sluggish, but imitators of those who through faith and perseverance inherit the promises.

O (Observation):Words of instruction from Hebrews today. This chapter includes instruction for living a life that bears fruit for God and God’s Kingdom, instructing God’s people to imitate those who have matured in the faith.

A (Application): I’ve heard instruction of imitating those who have gone before us in the faith. Typically, those we are called to imitate have died. Saints, biblical characters, missionaries.

Yet, this Hebrews text (and Paul, in other places) calls…

Summoned and Sent (Mark 6:7)

And He summoned the twelve and began to send them out in pairs, and gave them authority over the unclean spirits;

Mark 6:7

I do not like this time of year. The Halloween season has grown darker and darker over the years and I just do not like it. Not one bit. There is a great deal of focus on the occult and on spiritual things. One writer posited that the druids — a sort of priestly order for the Celts — celebrated Samhain (pronounced something like sah-ween) as a time when the veil between the spiritual world and the physical world was thinned. There are many cultures that have similar holidays — I am thinking specifically of the Chinese Hungry Ghost Day — but they all share this idea of the dead and the living; the spiritual and the physical getting very close to one another.

Jesus, in this…

326. Exceeding Greatness

Bring Back the Poetry

Ephesians 1
Exceeding Greatness
by Jason Tomlinson

God’s power is toward us who believe
and its measure for us to receive
is not based on me or you
but according to the working of His mighty power it’s true
the power He used to raise His Son
and seat Him at His right hand it was done
and Jesus on the throne is above everything
this move succeeded and what did it bring?
it brought every principality power and might
under Him Who authored the Light
and every name named right now and right here
is subject to Him this month and this year
and the year after that and the year after that
what I’m saying what I’m getting at
is that God in Christ wrote the book on working hard
no further work needed no need to post a guard
it has already been taken care of it…
