Praying that the Millennials will believe in Jesus, the Bread of Life.

In the Name of Jesus, Heavenly Father, we pray that you will awaken millennials to the Lord Jesus Christ. Incline the hearts of the millennials to believe that Jesus is the Bread of Life. Open their hearts to believe that He died for the sins of the world and has risen from the dead.

O Lord, millions of our young adults around the world are dying from spiritual hunger. They are starved for the glories of Christ. They are starved for eternal happiness and joy. They are starved for the true Bread of Life. Satisfy their hunger with Jesus, the Bread of Life.

Gracious Father in heaven, by the power of Your Spirit, amaze them with the satisfaction that our Lord Jesus Christ offers and bring the words of our Lord Jesus to their minds:  “I am the bread of life. He who comes to Me shall never hunger, and he who believes in Me shall never thirst” (John 6:35).

Save many millennials today, O Lord, even as we pray. Astound them with the Living Bread who came down from heaven. Amaze them in ways that only You can. Awaken them to the soul-satisfying pleasures of the Bread of Life. Draw them to Jesus so that they can begin to enjoy dimensions of holy pleasures and heavenly blessings that they never dreamed possible.

Father, glorify Your Holy Name. In Jesus Name. Amen.

Praying for My Book on Prayer

This is such a noble way to seek the power of God for the success of your publications. Use it as a template for your current and future books.

The view from my writing perch

I am at a friend’s cabin today on the Fox Lake in Wisconsin.  He offered it to me for a few days as I am on vacation attempting something that I have never tried before.  I am starting to write a book…on prayer.

It was over a year ago that I felt the Lord leading me in this endeavor, and I hope I heard right.  Unless it’s straight from the Bible, I’m usually not one to say, “God said to me…” but sometimes the sense is stronger than others.  This communication seemed pretty strong.

So I spent a year – maybe too long – musing and trying to decide how to do this.  Tim Challies, a popular blogger and Christian book reviewer said that he gets more new books sent to him on prayer than any other topic, so maybe this is crazy. But, then again, I think I may have a…

AHA – Awakening Honesty Action

This book is a must-read for every prodigal or relative of a prodigal.

AHA: The God Moment That Changes EverythingAHA: The God Moment That Changes Everything by Kyle Idleman

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

“We’ve all had “aha!” moments in our lives, times when a sudden revelation surprises us with insight. According to pastor and bestselling author Kyle Idleman, we can experience this same kind of “aha!” in our spiritual lives. With everyday examples and trademark testimonies, Idleman draws on Scripture to reveal how three key elements can draw us closer to God and change our lives for good.

Awakening to the reality of our true spiritual condition, we see ourselves and our need for a Savior with renewed honesty. This realization leads to action, obeying God’s commands and following the example set by Christ. As we see in the transformation of the prodigal son, the result is a life-changing, destiny-altering collision—an AHA moment that leads us home to our loving Father.”

Where are the Commands for Personal Evangelism?

Are we ambassadors for Christ?

Entrusted with the Gospel

Some people are under the impression that the Bible does not tell us to do personal evangelism. Have you ever considered it? It’s interesting – try to think of a biblical command that says something like this: “Be sure to tell your family and your co-workers and your neighbors about Christ,” and you’ll get the idea. You don’t see as much urging in this area as you might otherwise think.

Of course, there’s Peter’s command to be ready to give an answer for the hope that is in you (1 Peter 3:15). And more importantly, there is the Great Commission in Matthew 28. Actually, I think those few verses that close out the end of the first book in the New Testament are enough. Go make disciples and teach others to do the same. From these verses (not to mention the counterparts in the other gospels and Acts), we have enough direction to start talking until Jesus…

In Which I Tell the Story of Meeting Two Christian “Celebrities”

The prayers of the righteous are powerful. Yes, people still need the Lord.

Entrusted with the Gospel

Bill BrightBill Bright was the founder and leader of Cru, formerly known as Campus Crusade for Christ. He loved the Word of God, and interestingly, memorized it in the Living Bible. Dr. Bright was an evangelism machine, sharing the gospel with everyone he met, and leading many of them to Christ. I once heard that the following very cool verses were his favorites:

So everywhere we go we talk about Christ to all who will listen, warning them and teaching them as well as we know how. We want to be able to present each one to God, perfect because of what Christ has done for each of them. Colossians 1:28,29 (The Living Bible)

Isn’t that good? Anyway, a precious memory in my life was the day that Dr. Bright prayed for me. Memory is foggy, but it was probably summer of ’86 and Campus Crusade was having a conference at the University of Illinois. I was…

The End of a Mission. The Continuation of a Journey.

You’ll have to experience Summer Ministry to enjoy God in an unforgettable manner as these students did for 2-1/2 months.

Mind Walking

This is the final blog post of my Ocean City Summer Mission 2015 experience. This summer has been an amazing adventure of serving God and growing oh so much closer to Him. The experience I’ve had this summer is like nothing I’ve experienced in my 5 years of dedicating my life to Christ.

Saying good-byes are hard, especially when having to say it to people you’ve spent a whole summer with and shared such a spiritual and emotional experience with. We really are family. We’ve lived together, eaten together, worked together, struggled together, and grown together. Because of how close I’ve grown to all of these people I really hated having to say good-bye. When I did say good-bye I feel like I didn’t even get a sense of closure because I didn’t get to see all of the semester students off since I had to work early in the morning…

Praying for the Unsaved Millennials in our Families

Product Details

This eBook is a 24-day, devotional prayer guide that will encourage readers to pray regularly for unsaved young adults and relatives. It is Scripture-saturated and filled with Christ-exalting prayers and praises that will get God’s attention. Young people have a vision to be world-changers. They are visionary. They have a victorious-mindset.  They have great plans. One vital element is missing to undergird them with the power of God. They need to humble themselves and seek the power of God to save them and sanctify them. He alone can fulfill their exciting plans to make an eternal impact, if that is His will for them.

I have focused many prayers on the salvation of the millennials because secular media often highlights the negativity in their lives rather than the positive things that they are doing. From my interactions with them, I find them to be well-educated, tech-savvy, strategic-thinking, ambitious, adventurous, proactive, positive, creative, collaborative, flexible, invigorating, compassionate, generous, community-focused, goal-oriented, global-minded, and gospel-oriented (if they are Christians). They are exciting young people, and many of them want to change the world.

We need them in every sector of society. The body of Christ needs them. They need our prayers because without Christ they can do nothing for the Glory of God. If you need a nudge to begin praying for them, “Praying for the Unsaved Millennials in our Families” is a good starting point. It is an energizing 24-day prayer guide. This eBook is available for $2.51 on amazon.com. The royalties from the sales of this eBook will be donated to under-funded missionaries and mission projects.
